Skills Premier is proud to introduce the Evolving Stylist Level 3 Work-Based Hairdressing training programme, in partnership with Pivot Point. As an established training provider, we aim to deliver programmes that align with the needs and expectations of the hairdressing industry.

Trainees will have access to the Pivot Point LAB online digital platform throughout their programme. This is designed to ensure the highest quality learning experience for each trainee. Learning is available 24/7 to further cement their learning within the workplace. It is customised to meet their individual learning requirements and continually updated to reflect industry trends.

Overview

Graduates of Premier’s Evolving Stylist programme, in partnership with Pivot Point, will gain practical skills in styling, colouring, and basic haircutting for salon work under supervision. The programme offers blended learning through face-to-face, workplace, and online training.

Trainees will also enhance their communication skills through client consultations, ensuring health and safety practices are followed, and fostering collaboration and professionalism.

Course Hours

Part time, 52 Weeks + term breaks

  • Runs on Mondays
  • 10 face-to-face sessions from 9am – 4pm
    (5 delivery, 5 assessment)
  • 4 online sessions from 9am to 12pm
  • Sessions are not on consecutive Mondays and will be spread throughout the year

Eligibility

To be eligible for our Level 3 programme, you must:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen, or have 3 or more years permanent residence in New Zealand
  • Must be employed in a hairdressing salon a minimum of 20 hours
  • Workplace communication skills
  • A passion and desire to be working in the hairdressing industry
  • Age 16 years or higher (or 15 with MOE exemption is granted)
  • A positive attitude and commitment to complete the course.
