Overview

This course has been designed for aspiring hairdressers and will provide you with foundational knowledge and practical skills.

Learners will master essential techniques that include, blow drying, basic colour work, cutting and setting. Additionally, to develop enhanced communication skills, learners will perform client consultations to effectively monitor health and safety practices and enable collaboration with peers and professionalism.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to enter the hairdressing industry as an Assistant or Work Based Training Learner, and can enrol into our Work Based Training Programme for New Zealand Certificate in Professional Stylist (Level 4).

Eligibility

To be eligible for our Level 3 programme, you must:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen, or have 3 or more years permanent residence in New Zealand
  •  Workplace communication skills
  • A passion and desire to be working in the hairdressing industry
  • Age 16 years or higher (or 15 with MOE exemption is granted)
  • A positive attitude and commitment to complete the course.
